Catching the eye of people

Post by NotteEterna on 9th February 2011, 8:47 pm

I was thinking, maybe our problem with getting people to join is that we lack stuff that catches the eye. Like what if we made our support an animated scene of some kid that falls asleep, has a dream of being a hero and then wakes up as that hero? like:
(kid is shown asleep, it goes into a dream bubble, the bubble pops and shows him as the dream and with an exclamation point above his head, it goes black and repeats.

and would a slogan-like thing help to such as:

"RPGDreams: Making the dreamscape and reality one"
or
"RPGDreams: Where dreams are realiity"

Maybe stuff like that could get peoples attention and send people here from other forum sites and stuff.

I have invited a few people but they may or may not join...And I know it takes time, but I figured that we have been around since mid last year, and VX.net has been around not much longer than that since RPGMaker VX came out with either Vista or 7 so I am trying to figure out what is making them so successful, but i can't figure it out...

vx.net has been around since like 2005
and rpgmakervx a little longer.

how long have you been rm-ing?
both have been around for quite a while.

I have been on rmvx for at least 4 years.

And im sure all they did was make it compat. with Vista, and 7

That's not what I read, but alright. I havn't been for too long, maybe a year or 2, but I have gotten pretty good. The projects I am working on aren't as flashy as they could be, but that is because I am building up for crazy all-out eventing as they get closer to the end. other than that though, they look really good. I am using my own(well kinda) customized tiles for them.

I learned that certain colors in logos and stuff attract people to certain products. Try using some in your signatures and see if it brinks people in.

Colours like what? That would be helpful if you include the colours, but otherwise it isn't of use almost at all.

They can be found here:
http://www.squidoo.com/all-about-colors

This is just an example.
The color of the forum is black and red. Together, they form a dark and ominous atmosphere just like my sig. Razz
If it were a brighter color, it could attract more people.

I'll let Light be the judge of this, but I think that this just might help, even if it is just alittle.

Hmm...Maybe Green and silver(or gold)? Give it more of a classical RPG feel?

Notte are you going zelda on us?
