The Curse of the Wereberry (Recruiting)

First topic message reminder :



Game demo with RTP!
For my mappers and eventers!


1.0 (Fixed and unencrypted) Smaller package!
1.1 (Intro finished) south end added by Notte!
1.2 (Splash screens entered, First battle fixed)
1.3 (emotional moment after first battle needs fixing)
Demo Link 1.4 (fixed emo moment, plus new cutscene!)

Mirrors

The Only thing I need Is faceset artists and eventers!
I'll Provide the sprites all you have to do is make their faces (I don't need complete Emo sets).
Feel free to ask any and all anatomy questions for the faces to be made.

There is a quest in the game that a friend came up with and I need an eventer to help me with the implementation!
Idea below!

Outsider Ideas!

"so I was thinking that the armory can't be accessed until the side quest with Penumbra and Ruki is done.

Maybe Strawberry finds Ruki coughing out blood and takes him to a worried penumbra who is searching all over town for him. Strawberry then has to go and gather items for Ruki's medicine and when he makes it,( maybe a time limit and if they fail then the quest is reset and done over?), the armory is open? Then there can be additional quests between the two for new items/upgrades?" ~Kageoni

If the time limit cannot be done then please just do the default idea.

so I was thinking that in order to access the armory the player has to do the quest with Ruki and Penumbra, and then continue to do more quests for them to get upgrades for armor, what do you think?

I think the first one could be going to the armory and Penumbra's frantic and unable to find Ruki and denies the player from accessing the armory. He also says that he (ruki) was going out for a walk near the woods and hasn't returned. So upon finding him he's passed out from coughing out blood and the player takes him back to penumbra. Penumbra then instructs that he needs several things to save him, and the player has to bring it back to save Ruki in order to access the armory as gratitude.

I'm just not sure as to what to do with Shiloh, Tobi and the others.
Well it's good to know that we have the armory planned out.

okay n_n

The blond has small framed glasses and a shirt that is missing a sleeve he is rather feminine.

the last one is a teenage dragon boy with shaggy black hair and a white horn that sticks out the middle of his forehead (parting his hair). the scales on his face are patterned like the gold dragon fellow (second on bottom row) except his scales are a greenish blue and not gold.

I feel like I keep making excuses for this... GOD I should have just done it earlier >.<
My program just exploded, it wont even let me open it anymore T-T I tried making it in photoshop, but it frustrated me to no end sooo...

I had to... I had to make it with a generated face OwO I tried my hardest to modify the face a little so it didn't look the same as the others, but you can still tell... once again, I apologize and I can fix it once I figure out why my stupid program is hating me right now...

I just played the demo and I just saw a few things wrong.
1) Use capital letters for the intro text. You din't use them sometimes.
2) Balloon icons don't appear on character in the woods. They appeared over the player which is invisible.

Now this game is one more step to becoming high class!

n_n okay babes...
now that the intro and the splash screens are all set I can get back to making the story events!

the first story event has a several step process.
1. Go to the well to wash up before going home, If you try to go home before washing up you get a message that tells you to wash up (done!)
2. go home to sleep off the pain of your injuries and miraculusly it becomes daytime! (done!)
3. Go to Angel D's house and talk to him about your condition, If you try to go to his house without sleeping in your bed you get a message saying you are in too much pain to see anyone right now. (done)
3a. Angel D. tells you to go back to the forest where you camped out to find an herb that can cure your condition. Once at the campground check 6 flowers/plants. None of them are the herb. But once they are all checked they trigger an event in Angel D's house. (still trying to figure this part out)

once you examine a flower, add +1 to a variable, and then control self-switch A on to make sure the player can't add more than one to a variable per plant you examine. Then, at Angel D.'s house, make the event with condition Variable "enter whichever variable you used" is 6 or above~

I dunno how to explain it better than that lol so if you don't get it send me your project and I can do it for you~

o.o wholly crap that's exactly what I did...I just haven't tested it yet.

Edit: Okay it worked but the final encounter in the first event has bugs.
I am using a side view battle system and there are ghosts battling beside the main character during his first fight.
also I can't get the sad part to play out properly.

Grab Demo 1.2 (from the first post) to help with the problem.

Yes I set up the troops but that's not the issue.
the monster/opposing character is where it is supposed to.

In the battle Strawberry is supposed to be fighting the monster alone.
however...there are three charspots beside him with phantom shadows that attack the enemy as well.
